Abstract


The Oppressions Towards CTNA and Crimean Tatar Turks After Russia's Annexation of the Crimea
The most important event and related shift in the Black Sea Basin is the Crimea annexation of Russia in 2014. This annexation which was started with a military intervention but so called legitimized via based on a plebiscite, became a development effecting directly Crimean Tatar Turks the autochthon and fundamental people of Crimea. The Crimean Tatar National Assembly (CTNA) which was the most authorized representative body when the peninsula was de facto Ukraine territory, and those people who are in national political activity have been subjected to strong and systematic oppression after the annexation by Russia and Russian administration in Crimea. This includes the unauthorization and ban of CTNA. This work examines those systematic oppressions towards Crimean Tatar Turks after Russian 2014 annexation in connection with effects of the annexation on this community.
