Abstract
The Theoretical Fundamentals of the Serbian Nationalism
In recent years, the Balkan geography is on the agenda of international relations and the international community. The wars, conflicts and massacres that took place in this post-Cold War geography had a negative impact on the perception of the region. It is seen that the term “Balkan”, which is the name of this geography and which has a very different meaning, is used as “Balkanization” to express a new nation and gain independence due to the events occurring in the region. This term is also used to express the confusion and confusion occurring in other parts of the world. For this reason, it is necessary to examine the Serbs, who are one of the reasons why the region is remembered in this way after the Cold War, and which ignited the wick of the events and their understanding of nationalism. Serbian nationalism has a structure that has the potential to change regional dynamics periodically. In this respect, the need to examine such a concept of nationalism at the conceptual level arises. This study aims to reveal the nature of Serbian nationalism by analyzing Serbian nationalism at a conceptual level. In order to achieve the aim, approaches and theories in the nationalism literature will be used. Besides, Serbian nationalism will be examined in the context of religion, language and historical elements.
